Candles are the medium we chose first because scent has a way of reaching memory and feeling before language does. But the candle itself is not the whole point. The point is the moment you light one and something in you quietly recognizes exactly where you are.

Most products are designed to make you feel better. Alt Route is designed to make you feel more present.
There is a difference.
Feeling better implies you were wrong to feel what you were feeling. Feeling present means acknowledging where you actually are: the restlessness, the wonder, the wistfulness, the complicated joy of return, and finding something that meets you there without trying to fix it.
We are not here to sell calm, comfort, or escape. We are here to create objects that help you notice the moment you are in.
